The Carolina Beach Boardwalk was built in the 1930s and has been a popular East Coast vacation destination ever since. The elevated wooden boardwalk runs along the beach with beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean. You can step off the walkway onto the pristine beach. It is a signature piece of Pleasure Island NC.
The town has made the boardwalk a safe family friendly and pedestrian only area. There are ample bike racks, close parking and wheelchair access. Comfortable swing benches face the ocean.
The business area consists of numerous unique Carolina Beach Boardwalk shops, restaurants and entertainment venues with many accessible directly off the wooden deck.
